Editorial policy
Storage Size Lab publishes planning guidance built around a versioned capacity model. Capacity and item-volume figures are computed from published data; cost and other editorial figures use separately documented sources. Releases pass internal QA, the site currently carries no advertising or affiliate links, and every page states when it was last reviewed.
How content is made
- Intent first. A page is created only when there is a distinct question to answer and we have something specific to answer it with. We do not create near-duplicate pages to cover keyword variants.
- Capacity figures come from the model. Capacity and item-volume numbers are computed at build time from the published dataset. Cost and other editorial figures have separate provenance and are not presented as model output.
- Cost figures are ranges. Never single national prices, never ZIP-level precision, always dated.
- Internal QA. Size, packing, vehicle and cost pages pass our documented editorial QA process; no unnamed external expert review is claimed.
- Dating. Every page carries a last-checked date and links to the model version it was built on.
Use of AI
AI tools may assist with drafting and editing prose. They do not produce any figure published on this site, and any AI-assisted draft is verified against the dataset and reviewed before publication.
We do not use AI to generate pages at scale to cover query variants. Where a topic does not warrant its own page, it is answered within an existing one.
Editorial independence
There is no advertising, no affiliate program and no sponsored content on this site, so there is no commercial party able to influence a capacity figure, a cost range or a calculator result. Editorial coverage is not for sale because nothing here is.
If that funding model ever changes, the disclosure and controls in the /advertising-policy/ must be implemented before the first paid placement, not after it.
What we will not do
- Publish a precise figure where only a range is defensible
- Present estimates as quotes
- Use rating or review markup for ratings and reviews that do not exist
- Create pages whose only difference from another page is a substituted number
- Introduce advertising that obstructs a calculator or could be mistaken for a result
- Claim a recommendation is guaranteed to fit
