This source ledger documents the references and publisher-maintained datasets used by Storage Size Lab. It records what each source supports, when it was reviewed, how the site uses it and what it cannot prove. Ledger v1.0 was reviewed 2026-08-13.

What we do not use
No scraped facility-level pricing. Individual facility rates change weekly and republishing them would be stale on arrival.
No ZIP-code price data. We publish market-type multipliers instead, which are honest about their resolution.
No AI-generated figures. Language models do not produce any number on this site. Where AI assists with drafting prose, every figure in that prose is verified against the dataset before publication.
No invented reviews or ratings. There is no rating markup on this site because there are no ratings to mark up.
Open data
The household item catalog is published in full as CSV and JSON, and the complete capacity model — units, densities and assumptions — is available as a single JSON file. See the dataset page for structure and licensing.
If you use it, a link back is appreciated but not required. If you find an error in it, please tell us — corrections to the dataset propagate to every page on the site at the next build.
