About StorageFit
StorageFit helps people in the US work out what size storage unit they need, what fits in it and what it costs. Every figure comes from a single published capacity model and an open dataset of household item volumes, so any number on the site can be checked.
Why this site exists
Storage is sold by floor area and used by volume, and almost every published size guide blurs the two. The result is predictable: people rent a unit one size too small, discover it on moving day, and pay twice.
We built a capacity model that states its assumptions — ceiling height, packing efficiency, aisle allowance — and then built the calculators, size guides and cost references on top of that single model. The point is not to have more pages than anyone else. It is that the number on a size page, the number in a comparison table and the number the calculator returns are the same number, and you can see how it was reached.

How this is funded
It is not. There is no advertising on this site, no affiliate links, no sponsored placements and no analytics. Nothing here earns a commission, and no outbound link is paid for.
That is worth stating plainly because it changes how you should read the recommendations: the capacity model is arithmetic, and there is no commercial reason for it to push you toward a larger unit than your inventory needs. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed here first and in the our editorial standards.
